7th July 2012
A few A-to-Zoomies went to Wellingborough agility show (one of the few shows which went ahead on a very wet weekend). Congratulations to the following:-

Donna not to be out done by Fen, shows off her 12 straight weaves, ably assisted by Anita!! Jolly well done to you both!
27th June 2012
Not to be outdone, Spyder also masters 6 straight weaves ..... but according to June he needs to put his brakes on more consistently to slow down for the first pole!! Well done Spyder!!
22nd June 2012 - Digby proofs his 6 straight weaves.
Digby shows that he can get his weaves in a course at training this week!!
Well done Diggy!!
17th June 2012 - Golden Valley
Some great results for Alison, Laura and Scott at Golden Valley with:
Fin: G3 Jumping - 6th, CG3-4 Jumping 7th and G3 Agility - 2nd.
Sax: 3 clear rounds.
Toffee: went clear in Anysize ( and only barked at the judge a little bit in passing)!!!
Well done!
15th June 2012 - Dave and Fen go straight!!
At the beginning of Dave's 2 week holiday Fen was making nice progress with his 2x2 weaves ....but following a "man-to-man-talk" (and we are quoting Dave here!!) by the end of the two weeks Fen had mastered 12 straight weaves at speed!!!!
Jolly well done to both Dave and Fen (Anita was gutted and Donna was not impressed at her 6 straight weaves being usurped so quickly!!!)
9th June 2012 - Thames
Debs and Jazz went clear in their G2 Jumping and Jazz was back to her old self!!
Well Done!
9th June 2012 - BitzNBobs

Nick & Bruce - 2nd in Grade 4 Agility
Alison & Fin - 8th in Grade 3 Jumping
Ann & Rafe - 8th in Grade 4 Agility
And Toffee was a very good boy and coped with judges in the rings in his two runs (well he did have one little "woof" as he spotted the judge before Scott neatly posted him into a tunnel!!)
Well done everyone!!
1st June 2012
Rebus tackles 12 competition weaves successfully in training today! Well done Rebus!
31st May 2012
Ann and Sarah did another measuring session, this time at Diamond Dogs at Stoke Mandeville. Watch out for some new A to Zooom dogs on the circuit who were measured on Thursday!!
25th May 2012 (6.45am!)
Donna does 6 straight weaves and (apparently) is very pleased with herself - as is Anita!! Well done Donna and Anita!!
20th May 2012 - A to Zooom go to BATS!
A number of us competed at BATS DTC Agility show at the weekend as well as running a ring for them with our friends from local clubs Aylesbury and Fracas: thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help the ring run smoothly - both our judges (and Brent, our Ring Manager,) were very grateful.
And despite working on the ring there were some very good results:-
Scott & Mo - clear round in G4-7 NBC Jumping
Charlotte & Chloe - 13th in Grade 3 Agility
Alison & Fin - 10th in Grade 3 Jumping and 13th in G1-3 NBC Jumping
Ann & Rafe - 5th in G1-3 ABC Jumping
Rachel & Rex - 3rd in Grade 1 Jumping (Great to see Rex back after injury!)
Chris & Tyzer - 2nd in G3 Jumping (not bad for their first G3 Show)
But overall best performer of the day was SAX (ably assisted by Laura) who got a 2nd in G5 agility and a 5th in G5 Jumping!!!!!
Well done everybody!
13th May 2012
Carol and Charlie come 1st in UKA Beginners Maxi Agility! Well done both of you!!
12th May 2012
Donna proves that she can do 4 straight weaves at training as well as at home! Well done Donna!
11th May 2012
At training today Ann decided that the "shepherd class" would show her where they had got to with their 2x2 weaves ..... Rebus was to go first and Ann asked Janet how she would like the 2x2s set up: "well, actually Rebus has been doing 6 straight weaves at home"! So we duly got out 6 straight competition weaves ..... and Rebus did these without any hesitation what so ever and from all angles, over a jump and ahead of Janet and with Janet running down the side!!!! Very well done Rebus - oh, and of course, Janet!!
10th May 2012 (at 7.30am - to be precise!!)
Donna did 4 straight weaves!!!!! (according to the text which Ann received from Anita at 7.34am!!)
And to prove the point Donna then showed Ann her 4 straight weaves at lunchtime!! Well done Donna and Anita .... the power of liver cake!
7th May 2012
A few of us ventured forth to Vyne today ...... and yes: we did get a tad cold and damp despite the early sunshine!! There were some very promising bits and some areas which we will be looking at in training!!
However there were a couple of "firsts":-
Rafe & Ann won their Grade 3 Agility and that makes Rafe Grade 4!!!! And having "quick released" his contacts in G3, Ann asked Rafe to hold all his contacts in the G1-7 KC Olympia ABC qualifier which he did and he still managed a 22nd place (out of 226 dogs!) Very well done Rafey!!!
Khali made her debut!!!! Ann has been holding off putting Khali in the ring as in training she is easily distracted by another dog running (Tyzer, Ellie, Rafe and Mo will all vouch for that!). However, as she had already been entered for a couple of classes at Vyne and the Grade 3 Jumping ring had had an early lunch and was running while the other rings around it were at lunch, Ann decided to put her in the ring - a bit "spur of the moment" but Nick, Rafe, Deb and Jazz were on hand to "field"!! Khali was a bit unsure at the start but as soon as Ann started running she was totally focused on the task in hand!! The things which went wrong were just "baby stuff", but she stayed with Ann the whole time and some of the bits were very promising! Well done Khali!!!
27th April 2012
Digby proves in class that he can do 6 straight weaves with an independant entry and Gilly working him from both her left and right hand sides!! Well done Gilly & Digby!!
26th April 2012
Gilly announces that using his 2x2 weaves, Digby has achieved 6 straight weaves today!!! Excellent progress - we bet they were fast!!!!
(PS - even Nick is impressed!!!!)
24th April 2012
Duckling stops training!!
Janet and Rebus had started their 121 lesson when Rebus became very interested in something outside the menage! Janet tracked his interest down to a lonely little duckling who seemed to have lost mum, dad and his siblings and to be quite a long way away from water!! Whilst Rebus' lesson resumed, Becca started on the case of what to do with the little chap, (having first made sure he was safe in an old plastic cat carrier). As luck would have it, a friend of Becca's phoned while this was going on and just happened to mention that she was looking after an orphaned duckling .... what an amazing coincidence!!! Becca asked if she would like a companion for her duckling as she had just acquired one too!! So our little "agility" duckling has gone to join a new friend and is being well looked after!!
21st & 22nd April 2012
CONGRATULATIONS for the following results at Wallingford:-
Deb & Reiver for their 3rd place in G2 Agility (in your first ever KC show!)
Scott & Molson for their 5th place in Junior Overs plus clear rounds in both Large G6 Jumping and Agility
Laura & Sax for their clear round in Small G5 Jumping
Ann & Rafe for their 5th place in Large G3 Jumping and 6th place in Large G3 Agility
Toffee who tried very hard to be brave and run with Scott in the ring for the first time today..... but decided he needed a bit more practice before being able to cope with very scary judges, pole pickers and photographers!! (who were all very understanding!)
Rafe who did his first ever junior run with Scott - which was a big step forward for Rafe!
Check out http://www.ianclarkphotography.com/ for some pictures of our chaps and chapesses in action at Wallingford!
Well done everybody!!
20th April 2012
Charlie and Roxy can now do 12 straight weaves aided by Carol and Jane respectively!!! Well done to you all!!
14th &15th April 2012 - Spring At Shuttleworth
What a good start to our season! Congratulations to all our guys who ventured forth at Shuttleworth last weekend, of particular note are:-
Paul & Ember for their clear round in G 1 Jumping (with 12 weaves!!!) …. and despite having had to dress both Kerri and Keiran in the morning!!!! (hope the hand mends soon, Kerri!)
Charlotte & Chloe for their clear round in G2 Agility.
Anna & Isla (the very naughty terror) for their 13th place in CG1-7 Agility plus 2 clear rounds with attitude.
Ann & Molson for their 13th place in G6&7 jumping and their 17th in CG 1-7 Agility (there is life in the old boy yet!!)

Oh and finally … Chris & Tyzer for their 1st in G 1&2 Jumping, 1st in G1&2 Agility, 3rd in G2 Agility And 6th in CG1-3 Agility!!! Yes: now in Grade 3!!
And Bru and Parker would respectively like to thank Angus and Sharon for running them as Nick was really hopping on one foot!!!!
16th March 2012 Reiver's First Agility Show!
Deb took Reiver to her first agility show: UKA at Maple Durham. And didn't Reiver do well: just a couple of "baby" things - BUT she got a cracking set of weaves and all her contacts!! Overall it was a brilliant debut especially as she has only worked with her training buddy, Khali, and has not had to work against any other distraction. Well done Reiver!!
However it seems that Jazz found Reiver being there a bigger distraction and made some very uncharacteristic mistakes! (Deb did admit it just might have been "driver error" as she was possibly concentrating a bit too much on Reivs!!)
(Unfortunately Khali was poorly so she was unable to accompany Reiver - but many thanks to her wonderful vets today: we are glad that Khali is already feeling much better and looking forward to her debut at "Spring at Shuttleworth" ..... hopefully she can echo Reivs' performance today!!!)
14th March 2012
A to Zooom went "measuring" with Fracas!
Ann is a KC Measurer, (all agility dogs entering KC shows have to be measured by a pair of official measurers before they can compete), and she paired up with Sarah Clark from Fracas to do a measuring session for Milton Keynes Dog Training Club. They measured a grand total of 22 dogs!
11th March 2012
Crufts 2012
The wonderful Dexter (everyone's fav!) was such a good boy and did Mandy proud! He showed lovely - but his endearing qualities were clearly not fully appreciated by the judge!! However while spending a lot of time cuddling his best "auntie" Helen, he was probably the most photographed EBT at Crufts this year - a true ambassador for the breed!!
Mandy and Crosby were brilliant and came 2nd in the Junior Mini EBT class and Croz showed his socks off ..... despite being a little toad for the rest of the time - But you did it when it counted, Croz!!
10th March 2012
Crufts 2012
June and Spyder also had a wonderful time at Crufts and came 2nd in their BSD breed class!! An Excellent result (for an A2Z Agility Dog!!!!!!)
9th March 2012

11th December 2010
Phoebe is going to Crufts 2010!
Phoebe, Anita's beautiful clumber spaniel, came third in the "puppy class" at LKA Championship Breed Show in Birmingham and has qualified for Crufts! Well done to both Phoebe and Anita ..... even if she was the naughtiest puppy in the class!!
13th November 2010
Discover Dogs
Alison and Fin had an amazing time in The Starters Cup Final.
Despite the crowds, noise, astro turf, white picket fencing , commentary and the clapping ..... Finnie did extremely well for such a young hairy chap! Unfortunately the ring was very small so the last jump in his jumping course looked as though he was having to jump over the picket fencing into the group of children sat just behind it. So being a caring lad he skiped around the jump instead. His agility round was much more successful, although Alison did have to work every inch of the course, and he came a very commendable 2nd which made his overall result 5th!
Well done Alison and Fin!!
6th November 2010
At Barking Mad Winter League:-
Sue & Monty got 13th Place in Power & Speed where there were only about 15 clears from something like 150 dogs!
Jen & Austin made their debut and according to Jen although young Austin did not go clear he put in a commendable performance and it seems they have both been bitten by the "agility bug"!!
Charlotte & Izzie got a top 3 place.
Alison & Fin collected a 3rd in Jumping
Chris & Tyzer went clear in Steeplechase
All in all: very well done everyone!!
25th October 2010
Frankie showed us how well all Becky's hard work has paid off over the last couple of months and demonstrated at training (in true "Frankie- style": ie loudly!!) that he can now do 12 straight weaves on both the left and right with an independent entry!! Huge congratulations to Becky .... and of course Frank!!
24th October 2010
Jen and Austin (two of A to Zooom's original members) came back and visited us for some Sunday training ..... and Austin showed off his "12 straight weaves"!! Well done to Jen and Austin - you are both obviously doing well training with your new local club at Barking Mad!!
3rd October 2010
Alison and Fin get their first Novice win at Thurrock Open Obedience Show
2nd October 2010
Ann and Molson win out of Beginners at Elm Park Open Obedience Show!!

Not to be outdone, Molson came 18th in a tricky Grade 6-7 Jumping class against over 200 dogs! Well done Mo!!!
Laura and Sax managed a "safe" clear round and great fun was had in pairs with Fin and Mo achieving a creditable double clear - just need to get their skates on for a place next time out...!
Keep up the training...!

4th July 2010
Wellingborough Agility Show was another hot weekend but the organisers laid on paddling pools and water sprays for the dogs.
Sue and Monty achieved their first Clear Round in competition this weekend and more are sure to follow. Well Done!
Carol and Charlie achieved an 8th place in a very tricky 1-3 combined jumping class.
Charlotte and Izzy came 8th in their Grade1-2 jumping.
Ann and Molson went clear in a challenging 5-7 jumping and the mini/mixi pairs but his partner wasn't quite so lucky! Rafe came 19th in Grade 3 agility.
Fin and Alison won the Agility Club Starters Challenge (1-2 combined) agility, qualifying for final in 2011.
Cippenham Obedience show on Sunday also reaped rewards with Laura and Fin winning their YKC Starters obedience and qualifying for Crufts. Alison and Fin came 3rd in their Novice class and Ellie won her "A" class, much to Alison's surprise!
So another fantastic week for A-to-Zooom dogs and handlers!
Cheers!

28th June 2010
Another successful weekend at Watford show, despite it being the hottest day of the year so far.
Fin is on a roll winning Grade 1 agility, and getting 3rd in Grade1 jumping and 8th in combined 1-3 jumping. Just to prove a point that he and Alison are more than ready for Grade 2!
Kate with Buster got well deserved 3rd and 5th places and Chris with Tyzer got their first clear round, achieving 12th place in G1 jumping. Ann and Rafe got 14th in their G3 agility, followed by 12th and 15th places in jumping.
We even persuaded Marie and Esme to come and watch - and may even be able to persuade her to enter a show sometime soon...!
Thanks to everyone from A-to-Zooom, ACTS and FRACAS that helped with ring party on ring 4 and ring 3. Special thanks to those who avoided the football and stayed to help pack up at the end. It was a long, hot day!!!
And turning to non-agility:-
Marie and Esme also visited Buckland Fete and entered the "Sit & Stay Class" .... which they won!!! Very useful for that agility start line!!
Ann and Molson also turned their hand to obedience and got 3rd Place in the Beginner Dog Class at Warlingham on the Saturday.
Well done all! Hopefully it will be cooler next week...
p.s. on another note, Fin's sister is due to have puppies shortly. Click here for details.

They achieved two 5th places a 6th place and topped it all by winning out of Grade 1 by coming 1st place in Grade 1 Agility on Sunday! Huge congratulations to them. This means that Ellie and Fin will both now be competing at Grade 2. Laura ran Fin in the junior classes and got her first Clear round in the Over12 agility. Well done to them. Laura also achieved a 3rd place in Juniors with Sax.
